MADRID (Reuters) – Barcelona said on Tuesday that its budget for the season would reach more than half a million euros, making Barcelona the world’s highest budget to be approved by the club’s members at the annual general assembly scheduled for October 5.
The Catalan club closed last year’s accounts and prepared a budget for the season, worth more than 500 million euros for the first time, thanks to the number of club sponsors on the one hand and a deal worth 25 million euros for the sale of Tiago Alcantara to Bayern Munich.
Barcelona is looking to end the fiscal year with a surplus of 36 million euros, his spokesman Anthony Frisha said at a press conference in which he unveiled the agreements reached by the board of directors during his meeting yesterday.
Barcelona also announced that it has agreed to set up a new wing in its sports city, which is due to begin construction on November 15 and end one year later, at a cost of 5.2 million euros.
He also revealed that he was about to conclude another € 1.5 million care contract, but did not name the new partner.
In the end, the Catalan club announced its intention to launch a six-month photography competition, in which partners or fans could participate, to capture “the best image of the club’s values,” the spokesman said.
